Groundbreaking for Levi's trail

March 18 marks the second anniversary of the death of our 3-year-old grandson, Levi Collom.

Levi died suddenly from what is medically termed Sudden Unexplained Death Syndrome, or SUDC.

Though the results are equally tragic, researchers think there are differences between SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) and SUDC, due in part to age. Both of these still-not-understood tragedies are devastating in their outcome.

Part of what we've attempted to do in order to memorialize our family's loss of Levi is to work ourselves and solicit help from others in building an addition to what was Levi's favorite place to go when he came to Cape Girardeau from his hometown of Benton, the Discovery Playhouse. The assistance we have received from the local and larger community has been overwhelming and so very heartwarming.

At 11:30 a.m. Tuesday on the vacant lot north of the Discovery Playhouse, we will break ground for what will be named Levi's Adventure Trail. We invite you to join us.
