Drs. Mary Ann and Bert Kellerman of Cape Girardeau were among four winners of the 2014 McReynolds Award, given annually by the Missouri Alliance for Historic Preservation, to recognize individuals or groups that have demonstrated long-term commitment to preservation. The ceremony, held Thursday in the Capitol rotunda in Jefferson City, Mo., was led by Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder, who said: "It's a great honor to be part of this well-deserved award for the Kellermans, They truly have given their hearts and souls to the cause of historic preservation in the Cape Girardeau area, and their efforts and contributions will be felt for many years to come." The Kellermans, active in preservation since 1971, restored the Oliver-Leming House in Cape Girardeau. The home was residence to Marie Watkins Oliver, designer of Missouri's state flag that was adopted in 1913. From left are Kinder, Bert and Mary Mary Ann Kellerman and state Rep.
