No injuries from Blodgett home fire

BLODGETT, Mo. -- A rural Scott County home was destroyed by fire early Monday morning near Blodgett.

"It was very difficult today," Scott County Rural Fire Protection District chief Jeremy Perrien said of battling the blaze in such extreme weather conditions.

Responding vehicles became stuck in snow drifts, and pumps supplying water to fight the flames froze in the near zero temperatures, according to Perrien.

There were no injuries, and the family living in the home was able to escape.

According to Perrien, the cause of the fire was electrical in nature and began in the kitchen of the home at 2791 Route H.
