Thank you to Scott City crew

I would like to comment about a situation I found myself in on my birthday Feb. 5. I was scheduled to have surgery on my birthday and snow and ice began to fall Feb. 4. I live in Scott City on a dead-end street at the base of a hill; so when snow or ice come a calling, I am not moving.

I knew if snow and ice came down I would not be able to commute the street in front of my house to make it to the hospital at the appointed time of 6:30 a.m. In desperation I called Scott City officials and explained my plight. Folks, we complain when our trash isn't picked up, when our water bill seems high and when our streets are not clear of ice and snow as quick as we want.

I made the call, and at midnight Feb. 5 a snow plow came down my street, plowed it, salted it and spread sand so that I could traverse the steep hill and make my surgery appointment. I want to thank the street workers who came out on such a cold icy morning and made my trip possible. Scott City is a nice town to live in.
