10 things Tameka Kyles can't live without

As college access coordinator at Southeast Missouri State University, Tameka Kyles serves as a liaison between the university, local high schools, and students and their families. She's passionate about helping underserved and first-generation students meet their goals, be it through motivational speeches, coordinating job training and mentorships or working one-on-one with young people. She's a busy, successful woman at home, at work and in her community, but she still finds time to enjoy her favorite things. Here are 10 of Tameka's must-haves:

1. My faith and relationship with God

2. My mom's words of wisdom

3. My family and the quality time we share

4. My advanced education

5. Assisting youth with achieving their educational and career goals

6. Daily phone conversations with my mom and sister in Cleveland

7. My dad's annual hometown community fish fry in Lexington, Miss.

8. My mom's pancakes and peach cobbler

9. My friends and the times we share

10. Traveling with the ones I love
