A firefighting plane makes a water drop on a wildfire Thursday in the hills north of Glendora, Calif. Southern California authorities have ordered the evacuation of 2,000 residents at the edge of a fast-moving wildfire burning in the dangerously dry foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains.
