Local Woman Living Her Dream With Horses

Bonnie Overbeck and her horse Telusive Tide have won several Grand Champion titles over the past year.

Bonnie Overbeck of Jackson and her American quarter horse Telusive Tide have been celebrating a very successful year in the show ring. Under the guidance and training of Professional Horseman Chris Arentsen of Trenton, Illinois, Overbeck and "Tide" competed at several shows around the Midwest this past year, accumulating multiple Grand Champion titles along the way, including two titles at the North American International Livestock Expo in Louisville, Kentucky. The highpoint of their season came at the AQHA Select World Championships in Amarillo, Texas, back in August. There, they finished sixth in their class, as well as third and first in the Intermediate and Super Select divisions, respectfully. Tide went on to finish out the season with another trip to the AQHA Open World Championships in Oklahoma City with trainer Chris Arentsen in November, where they finished seventh. By the end of 2013, Overbeck was leading the state for AQHA's Rookie of the Year title.

With last year's highly successful season in the books, Overbeck is now looking forward to another memorable season and hoping to travel again to the World Championships, this time with a yearling colt she bred herself.
