River City Aquatics Celebrates Holidays through Service and Socials

River City Aquatics (RCA) celebrated the holidays with a series of service events to support the community. Swimmers and their families spent a day at Feed My Starving Children, held at the Osage Center, and collected canned goods to support food needs in the local Cape Girardeau area. Additional service projects are scheduled for spring, including a park cleanup day, and a conservation project.

In addition to completing service projects, River City Aquatics is hosting a team social on December 30th. The RCA Social Committee hosts several social events throughout the year to allow the team an opportunity to socialize outside of the water. Although the team is relatively new, social and service events have provided a strong team dynamic, and created a great deal of synergy among swimmers, parents, and coaches.

RCA swimmers are offered additional practice times over the holiday, providing swimmers with the opportunity to refine skills during the school break. Swimmers practice in one of six groups, beginning with the pre-team program, and graduating up to the senior program.

River City Aquatics, is a parent owned USA Swimming Team, and also fields an AAU Summer League Team. Over 200 swimmers from the region, ages 4 to 20, swam with River City Aquatics in 2013. Head Coach Jordan Kuper oversees a large coaching staff. Registration is open year round.
