Missouri deer, turkey hunting seasons set for 2014

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- The Missouri Conservation Commission has approved 2014 dates for turkey and deer firearms hunting seasons.

According to a news release from the Department of Conservation, the conservation commission has set April 21 as the opening of the turkey firearms season and Nov. 15 as the opening of deer firearms season.

The youth season dates for turkey hunting will be April 12 and 13, the regular spring turkey season will be from April 21 to May 11, and the fall turkey firearms season will be from Oct. 1 to 31.

The urban zones portion of deer firearms season will be from Oct. 10 to Oct. 13; the early youth portion will be Nov. 1 and 2; the November portion will be from Nov. 15 to Nov. 25; the antlerless portion will run from Nov. 26 to Dec. 7; the alternative methods portion will be from Dec. 20 to Dec. 30; and the late youth portion will be Jan. 3 and 4, 2015.

The release said full details of 2014 deer and turkey hunting regulations will be published on the Conservation Department website at mdc.mo.gov and in hunting regulation guides available from hunting permit vendors, MDC offices and nature centers statewide before the beginning of hunting seasons.
