Maple UMC's Holiday Bazaar, Saturday, November 9

Maple UMC members, Pat Williams, left, and Brenda Keene, put the finishing touches on decorated chairs to be featured at the church's Holiday Bazaar, Saturday, Nov. 9, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This year, the Maple Holiday Bazaar will see former members and new friends joining with present Maple members to provide another successful holiday bazaar.

When the doors open Saturday, Nov. 9, at 8 a.m., the Fellowship Hall, located just below the church on the corner of Cape Rock and Jean Ann Drive, will be filled with booths of useful, tasty and beautiful gifts for young and old.

The popular Mom and Pop's Café will welcome the breakfast crowd with biscuits and gravy, sausage biscuits, and homemade cinnamon rolls. The café will also be open for lunch with homemade soups, chili, hot dogs, chips, pies and drinks.

The Maple crafters will feature holiday pins, aprons, ornaments, and a plethora of other items such as decorated wooden blocks and hand painted chairs.

The ever popular Sweet Shoppe will be filled with favorite candies, delicious homemade cakes, breads, pies and cookies, and that world famous, gourmet pecan crispy popcorn, along with many other mouth-watering sweets.

A large room has been set aside to house the New To You Shop where gently used Christmas items that have been rescued from storage rooms and garages can be purchased for a very reasonable price.

Cedar Creek Studios near Columbia, MO will showcase the hand-blown glass Christmas ornaments, designer jewelry and colorful glass paperweights of Jason Leggett and Eric Brunson. A mother-daughter team from Lake of the Ozarks and formerly of Cape Girardeau, Janet Shepherd and daughter Katie, from KK's Closet, will feature their vintage lines along with decorated pumpkins, doll clothes, and jewelry. Other new vendors will offer select shopping for Vera Bradley purses; Mary Kay Holiday items; "Celebrating Home" items; and large, handmade decorator wreaths, pear butter and jellies, hair bows, Vault jeans and personalized jewelry.
