Nelson receives House Resolution

James Nelson, retired teacher/principal of Jackson High School was honored on Sept. 28 at the Jackson High School class of 1953 60 reunion banquet held at the Jackson Senior Center.

Nelson is the sole surviving teacher from the class of 1953. He received a Missouri House Resolution from State Representative Donna Lichtenegger, recognizing his lifetime achievements. The resolution was presented by Shirley Young, mistress of ceremonies.

Wayne McClard, reunion treasurer, presented Nelson with 53 one dollar bills from the class of 53.

Nelson has attended all of the class reunions, held every 5 years since graduation.
