Sunday, October 13, 2013

The Kim King Memorial Golf Tournament on Sept. 23 raised more than $8,573 to help fund the newly established Facilities Management Endowed Scholarship at Southeast Missouri State University. The tournament, named in honor of longtime Facilities Management employee Kim King who died Dec. 27, was held at Bent Creek Golf Course in Jackson. King, a 1984 graduate of Southeast, was employed by Facilities Management for more than 32 years and most recently served as operations support manager. The Facilities Management Endowed Scholarship will be awarded to a Southeast student with at least a 2.5 grade-point average and first preference will be given to descendants of former Facilities Management employees for whom special fundraising memorial events are sponsored. For more information on the scholarship, contact the Southeast Missouri University Foundation at 573-651-2203.
