Great fair

Thousands of people attended an entertaining SEMO District Fair last week.

With no rain over the course of the week, fairgoers enjoyed a full slate of entertainment, rides, animals and food at the oldest fair in the state.

It's a major undertaking to hold this fair in Cape Girardeau. We appreciate the work of the fair board, volunteers, city, sponsors and all those who participated.

Having a major event drawing tens of thousands of people benefits our community economically, and it's a good opportunity for family fun.
