CJHS cheerleaders bag numerous awards at NCA camp

Cape Central Junior High School (CJHS) Cheerleaders attended NCA summer camp July 22- 25 and "once again did an amazing job bringing home numerous awards to our school," said Laura Gunn, head cheerleading coach. The awards are almost too numerous to list, and include: the Spirit Stick for all four days of camp; one red excellent and three blue superior ribbons for their cheer and chant performances; 21 of the 22 cheerleaders were nominated for NCA All-American Cheerleader; Kezia Grigsby earned a spot on the NCA All-American Squad for Mascot; the Technical Excellence award for Stunting; a bid to NCA Nationals Cheer Competition; Champion Chant trophy in their division; and the NCA Herkie Team Award for overall excellence and spirit in cheerleading. "I congratulate the girls on their success at NCA Camp and look forward to preparing for football and basketball season as well as their national competition in January," concluded Coach Gunn.
