Power and corruption

I believe the saying "power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely." Nothing proves this more than all the scandals happening in Washington. The IRS abuse of power is particularly offensive. This agency strikes fear into all taxpaying citizens. And with Obamacare, the IRS will have access to our most personal information. This should horrify all of us.

Obamacare and the IRS need to go. The "FairTax" bill, in both houses, is real tax reform. It abolishes the IRS and institutes a consumption tax on new goods and services. It also provides for a rebate to all households up to the poverty level, therefore completely un-taxing the poor. People would get 100 percent of their paychecks plus this rebate. There is also a petition on dontfundobamacare.com that I urge people to sign. Obamacare is a train wreck and cannot possibly make health insurance cheaper or our health care better.

Most Americans are concerned and outraged by what is happening with our elite elected officials in D.C. But most are comfortable with their lives and don't want to get involved. Please reconsider and think what our children, grandchildren and all who come after us will inherit. Call your representative and senator, join a local advocacy group (Cape County Tea Party, SEMO10, HCEA, etc.) or send donations. If not for watchdog groups like these and other concerned citizens who actually take the time and effort to slow the march toward socialism, we would already be a Third World country. We must take a stand.
