With lots of people out of town for the July 4 holiday, tonight's First Friday gallery receptions might be the best bet for locals wishing to take in the art scene without having to fight large crowds. Despite the holiday on Thursday, galleries around Cape Girardeau will open their doors tonight for their monthly First Friday art receptions. Venerable local artist Herb Wickham is featured at the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri, and women take center stage at the Black Door Gallery. Get a full listing on page 15.
