Capaha needs concession stand

I just returned from an exciting game of baseball between the Plaza Tire Capahas and the Charleston Riverdogs played at Hillhouse Park in Charleston, Mo. I was impressed with their facilities, which are similar to Capaha Field, with one exception: They have a concession stand as do most parks of that caliber.

All Ohio Valley Conference, American Legion, Babe Ruth and semipro fields that I have visited provide some kind of refreshment stand. Both Shawnee and Arena parks in Cape Girardeau have concession stands. It is embarrassing when a visitor asks where the concession stand is and I have to inform them we haven't had one since the late '80s.

I urge the city council, parks department or whoever makes these decisions, on behalf of thousands of players and supporters who use Capaha Park during the year, please put a concession stand in Capaha Park.

A small concession stand as an addition to the west side of the restrooms is a very reasonable request, considering the number of people who would benefit from it. I ask all those who attend baseball games at Capaha Field to let the city know we need a concession stand in Capaha Park.
