4 FBLA Students Qualify for National Competition

Four Cape Central High School students qualified for National competition following State Future Business Leaders of America competition in Columbia. Those traveling to Anaheim California for National competition are Josh Greaser in Business Law, Joshua Sander in Personal Finance and Alex Mehner in Business Communications. Aaron Mehner will be receiving the America Award which is a National award which he has worked for most of this school year. He was also recognized at State as Outstanding Chapter Member and also received the BAA Leader Award.

The four Cape Central High School students were part of a seven-member group that traveled to Columbia for State Competition after winning at the District level in February. Competing at State were: Alex Mehner-- Business Communication and Business Calculations; Joshua Sander-- Computer Applications and Personal Finance; Josh Greaser-- Business Law and Emerging Business Issues; Aaron Mehner-- Job Interview and Emerging Business Issues; Emily Diamond-- Business Math; Russell Sprengel-- Personal Finance.

FBLA Adviser Mrs. Theresa Taylor will accompany her students to the National Conference. Mrs. Taylor has been a business teacher and FBLA Adviser for the past eleven years at Cape Central High School. She teaches Computer Applications, Advanced Computer Applications, Webpage Design and PhotoShop. When asked about State Contest, she said, "I could not be more proud of my FBLA kids. They are an amazing group of students. I look forward to taking them to National Competition."
