Home show

OK, spring got off to a rough start in terms of the weather.

But fear not Southeast Missourians, for there will be plenty of spring-related activities going on this weekend as the home and garden show, officially known as the Tri State Regional Home and Garden Show, kicks off. It will take place at the Show Me Center.

There will be an increased number of vendor demonstrations, a presentation stage and various entertainment and information programs scheduled throughout each day of the event, which starts at 4 p.m. today. The KFVS12 weather team will be on hand this evening to educate visitors on the use of emergency weather radios. The doors open at 10 a.m. Saturday with Sunny Gardens & Florist Radio Show with KZIM, followed by several activities throughout the afternoon.

The Smokin' Brothers Grilling School will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday to teach people how to become "competition-style grillers."

We may not like the weather, but that doesn't mean we can't "think spring." The home and garden show offers a perfect opportunity to get out this weekend.
