Join the Movement during MS Awareness Week

The Gateway Area Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society would like to invite the public to take part in creating a world free of MS during MS Awareness Week, March 10-16, 2013.

Multiple Sclerosis, or MS, is a chronic disease that attacks the central nervous system consisting of the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves. Symptoms vary with each individual and may be mild, such as numbness in the limbs, or severe, such as paralysis or loss of vision. New treatments and advances in research have led to new hope in MS patients, but there is still no cure for the disease. During MS Awareness Week people will gather to share, educate and build awareness in raising support and hope for a world free of MS.

As part of MS Awareness Week the Gateway Area Chapter of the National MS Society will host an MS Awareness Rally on March 16, 2013 from 12 pm to 4 pm, at West Park Mall in JC Penney's Court in Cape Girardeau. The rally will include a balloon artist, face painting from Alotta Fun 4U2 Productions, an MS Education Station, the chance to register for Cape Girardeau's 25th Annual Walk MS and much more.

Cape Girardeau's 25th Annual Walk MS will be held on Sunday, April 21st at Capaha Park with registration starting at 12 pm and the walk starting at 1 pm. Register to walk or volunteer at www.gatewaymswalk.org or 1-800-344-4867.
