SEMO Food Bank gets big potato donation

Laveta Williams separates potatoes into 10-pound bags from the 46,000-pound donation of potatoes the SEMO Food Bank received Wednesday morning. The food bank works with 170 agencies throughout Southeast Missouri. All agencies were invited to obtain potatoes from the donation. The food bank serves about 55,000 people each month. "We always have volunteer opportunities," development director Kristen Canter said. People interested in volunteering may call 651-0400.
