He was born Dec. 5, 1931, in Ancell, to Leslie E. and Flossie Wille Mainer. He graduated from McClure High School.
Pete was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War.
He and Marie Latham were married Dec. 25, 1958, at Portageville, Mo.
Mainer was a truck driver for Coca-Cola of Cape Girardeau for 20 years. He retired from Elfrink Truck Lines in 1992 after 24 years of service. He enjoyed farming and raising cattle in the McClure area.
He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 520 in Anna Ill., Teamster Local No. 574.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Mainer of McClure; a daughter, Sheila C. (Allan) Hansen of Wildwood, Mo.; two brothers, Leslie "Jupe" Mainer of Murphysboro, Ill., and Jerry Mainer of Granite City, Ill.; and three sisters, Maxine Hatler of Jackson and Carmen Hoffman andKatherine Taylor, both of Cape Girardeau.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford & Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Chapel in Cape Girardeau. Masonic service will be at 7 p.m.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Doyle Randol officiating. Burial will be at Lindsey Cemetery in McClure with full military honors.
