Thank you to the caller who was interested in the movie critiques. My husband and I love going to the movies, and we like to see what the movie is about and who's in it. Please add it back to the paper. We truly miss it.
Why doesn't the university have good concerts anymore at the Show Me Center? Why don't they have [and act} like Flo Rida come in? It'd be nice to see something. I saw Matchbox 20 when they came. It seems like the Show Me Center doesn't have good concerts any more.
I still think scooter riders in town need to have a banner sticking up on their scooters. Not only for their protection, but so the public can see them. They're hard to see. With winter coming, it's going to be worse.
Reading the paper, I was astonished at an arrest that was made of a fugitive. I want to thank the officer who made the arrest, and thank public administrators for keeping us safe.

First big concert I went to was at Kiel Auditorium. $7.50 for The Doors! Considering it was 1968 that was some serious money. Seems to me the Show Me Center has a difficult time identifying what will sell. Country usually does well. I'm an old rocker that would like that genre but seems it doesn't play as well. Best concert was Robert Palmer and no one came.
Just when you thought it was safe to watch TV again, sans political drivel commercials, here comes Christmas.
Movie critiques: Try the Internet for movie trailers and write ups.
Show Me Center: Very expensive to put on a concert with top country acts wanting 6 figures to perform.
Scooter safety: If your watching your driving and not texting or talking on the phone you will be able to see the scooters.
Fugitive arrest: Once again the police are doing their jobs.
Frost on the pumpkin this morning.
Show Me Center: Booking acts is a two way street. Most top acts or at least their management teams want to play big cities. Even if we can offer up the same amount of money their belief is that they have more marketing and promotion opportunities hitting larger cities.
The only exception to that seems to be certain country acts that are more regional than national (where playing smaller cities in the Mid-West or South makes much more sense than playing Seattle, Boston, or other coastal cities where the genre holds much less appeal) and "classic" acts that are looking to cash in off previous fame rather than build up a fanbase.
Every few years the Show-Me Center can catch a lucky break with a larger act stuck in a scheduling bind that leaves them near our area on a date with every other large venue within a few hundred miles already booked. That is usually the case for the handful of modern rock acts that have hit the Show-Me Center over the last 20 years, but it is more a matter of dumb luck than good planning.
