Humane Society of Southeast Missouri reports dogs stolen

Tuesday, October 2, 2012

An apparent overnight burglary at the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri resulted in the theft of two pit bulls.

The burglary was discovered Monday morning when the organization was preparing to open for business, director Kelly Goff said, and the Cape Girardeau Police Department has been notified.

Kelly Goff said a hole had been cut in the fence and that the kennel had been broken into.

The two stolen pit bulls are each about a year old. One is a male about 60 pounds with a tan and white coat, and the other is a female with a dilute-brindle coat who is small for her age with closely cropped ears.

Anyone with information regarding the thefts is asked to contact the Cape Girardeau Police Department at 335-6621 or the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri at 334-5837.
