Southeast coaches clinic: The Southeast Missouri State men's basketball program will hold its annual coaches clinic Oct. 11. The clinic is open to coaches on all levels and fans age 18 and over. Women's breakfast: The Southeast Missouri State women's basketball team and the Hoop Troop, a new support group for the program, have partnered with My Daddy's Cheesecake to host a free monthly breakfast with the Redhawks this season. Beginning at 7 a.m. Thursday, Southeast coach Ty Margenthaler, along with other team representatives, welcome all Redhawk fans to start their day at My Daddy's Cheesecake (265 S. Broadview in Cape Girardeau) and get updated on the women's basketball program. Fans in attendance will receive free coffee and breakfast. This event will run on the first Thursday of each month until the end of the women's basketball season in March. The other dates are Nov. 1, Dec. 6, Jan. 3, Feb. 7 and March 7.
Benefit Golf Tournament: The Community Counseling Center Foundation will host its 13th annual Benefit Golf Tournament on Friday at Cape Girardeau Country Club. Redhawks Run: The inaugural River Eagle Redhawks Run will be Oct. 13. The 5K race from Houck Stadium starts at 2:30 p.m. with registration beginning at 1:30 p.m. Participants receive a ticket to that night's Southeast Missouri State football game against Tennessee State, a Nike Dri-Fit T-shirt and a chance to create a fan tunnel for the Redhawks' entry onto the field. There is a finish line tailgate party with free food and beverages. Early entry of $25 is due by Sept. 7. Cost is $30 after Sept. 7. Bootheel Counseling run/walk: The Bootheel Counseling Services will hold it Goblin Gallop, a 5K/1-mile run and walk Oct. 27 in Sikeston, Mo.
