The annual Jackson Homecomers festival kicks off tonight in the uptown area of Jackson.

The event opens with the traditional performance by the Jackson Municipal Band at 6:30 p.m. at the courthouse square. Tonight's events also include the Homecomers Youth Run at 6:30 p.m. and the 5K race at city park at 7 p.m.

The Homecomers Queen pageant starts at 8 p.m.

For the first time this year, Jackson and Homecomers history will be highlighted in a multimedia display created by the Jackson Community Outreach Board involving video of local seniors and photographs of uptown vendors, past Homecomers crowds and five local landmarks.
