Mildred R. Pohlman, 86, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 10, 1926, in Old Appleton, to Gottfried "Fritz" and Bertha Mueller Roth. She and Melvin Pohlman were married Jan. 25, 1951, in Blytheville, Ark.
Mildred worked at the former Litz Poultry Plant, and then worked 33 years at the former LeeRowan (now Rubbermaid), both in Jackson, retiring in 2002.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau and a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.
In her spare time she liked to embroider quilt blocks and mow grass in the summer, but she especially enjoyed curling up with her little white poodle, Snowball.
Loving survivors include her husband of 61 years, Melvin of Jackson; two sons, Kenny Pohlman and Steve (Peggy) Pohlman of Jackson; two granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Raymond (Lorna) Roth of Old Appleton; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Roth of Cape Girardeau; and dear friends, Dr. Steve and Lisa Pewitt and their family of Cape Girardeau.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Norman Roth.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Douglas Breite officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
