NARS to add 100 jobs at Cape Girardeau facility

Friday, July 6, 2012

National Asset Recovery Services, NARS, is expanding again by hiring more than 100 new workers. This latest expansion will bring the company's workforce to about 700 employees in Cape Girardeau.

NARS will be conducting on-site interviews during a job fair from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The company is adding positions in various departments and looking for full- and part-time candidates with a background in customer service or call center experience, according to a news release.

NARS and its affiliate companies, Pinnacle Financial Group and Integrity Financial Partners, currently employ more than 3,500 people at 11 call centers in the U.S., Panama and Jamaica. The company provides business process outsourcing services to financial service firms in the U.S.

All full-time NARS employees are eligible for benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, after a required waiting period. The company has an on-site day care, restaurant and fitness facility.

"They've been innovative with their day care and their restaurant in trying to make their company a place where people want to work," said John Mehner, president and CEO of the Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce.

Mehner said he's excited to see NARS expand in Cape Girardeau again. Last summer the company added 100 jobs, going from about 500 positions to about 600 positions.

"They've been very good for the area," he said.

Amanda Hayes, center manager, said in a news release that the company tries to excite its employees with contests and giveaways for performance. In September, the company will give away a 2013 Nissan Versa to one of its agents.

Cape Girardeau native Chris Buehrle founded NARS in 1993 in Chesterfield, Mo. He later expanded the operation to Cape Girardeau in December 2006, putting the company in a building at the Town Plaza formerly occupied by Sears. Today, Buehrle, the former president and CEO, is now minority owner and board member.

The announcement by NARS is the latest in a series of businesses adding jobs in Cape Girardeau. In May, Menards opened, bringing about 160 jobs to the area. This fall the Isle Cape Girardeau casino will open with an estimated 450 employees. Saint Francis Medical Center also recently announced a $126 million expansion that will create 100 permanent jobs and 500 construction jobs in Cape Girardeau. Nordenia USA in Jackson expected to add 50 employees as a result of the construction of a warehouse recently completed in the Jackson Industrial Park.
