Way shoots 75 to win division

Adam Way fired a 75 to win the age 16 to 19 18-hole tour division at the Gateway PGA Junior Series event at Fox Haven in Sikeston, Mo.

Ryan McVey followed with a 76, while Eli Pike shot 77.

Brian Whitson carded an 81 to win the boys 14 and 15 tour division. Hunter Asher was second with an 84, and Jon Renner finished with an 85.

Sarah Bell (girls age 12 and 13, 98), Keke Beasley (boys 12 and 13, 77) and Sean Finney (boys 14 and 15, 84) were 18-hole winners in the regular division.

Nine-hole division winners were Taryn Bell (girls 10 and 11, 62), Peyton Bradley (girls 12 and 13, 44), Adele Soutar (girls 14 to 19, 51), Jaden Hightower (boys 10 and 11, 42), Nick Westrich (boys 12 and 13, 43) and Austin Bowman (boys 14 to 19, 47).

Tewis captures medalist honors

Linda Tewis was the 18-holes division medalist at the Cape Girardeau Country Club's Women's Golf Association's weekly outing.

Shirley Moore took first place, while Tewis and Janet White tied for second.

Marcia Wagner was the nine-holes winner.

Hammes wins Furry 5K

Kevin Hammes covered the 5-kilometer course in 17 minutes, 54.48 seconds to win the Fitness Plus Furry 5K race.

Ashley Schmittzche was the top female finisher, crossing the line in 22:35.14.
