He was born Oct. 27, 1928, in East Prairie, Mo., to Alfred Young and Edna Lee Speers Russell.
He and Florence M. Willis were married March 16, 1994, at Bell City, Mo.
Travis farmed in the Sturgeon, Mo., area, retiring in 1986.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II.
He was a member of the Lighthouse Church of Morley, Mo., and former member of VFW Post in Columbia, Mo.
Survivors include his wife, Florence M. Russell of Cape Girardeau,; a daughter, Sherley A. Kelley of Chaffee, Mo.; a son, Danny G. Russell of Arnold, Mo.; four stepdaughters, Mary Harlow of Perkins, Mo., Bonnie Harper of Cape Girardeau, Marie Greene of Paragould, Ark., Connie Dobbs of Oran, Mo.; a stepson, Bill Harlow of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren, Larry Cope, Donnie Cope, Michael Russell, Kevin Russell, Eddie Hamblin, Eric Russell, Aaron Russell; eight great-grandsons, Joshua Russell, Kendall Cope, Cody Russell, Nick Russell, Jordan Russell, Benjamin Hamblin, Evan Russell, Alexander Russell; eight great-granddaughters, Audrey Cope, Elizabeth Cope, Katelyn Cope, Breighanna Hamblin, Megan Cope, Morgan Hamblin, Anna Cope, Charlotte Hamblin; one great-great grandson, Jase Cope; and one great-great-granddaughter, Adelyn Cope.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Linda Sue Russell; and brothers Buell Parker, Aubrey Parker and Rimmel Russell.
Visitation was held Sunday.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Lighthouse Church of Morley, Mo., with the Rev. Don Russell, the Rev. Deborah Russell and the Rev. Tim Russell officiating.
Burial will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with full military honors by the Missouri Honors Team.
