SIKESTON, Mo. -- The Sikeston Department of Public Safety is investigating an armed robbery.

At 10 p.m. Tuesday, officers were called to 931 Hawthorn St., where an armed robbery was reported to have occurred.

"The two gentlemen were there, and there was a knock at the door," said Lt. Jim McMillen, public information officer of the department. "There was a girl at the door, and she pushed her way inside the home. Behind her was a man with a gun."

The man and woman robbed the two men at gunpoint, stealing a small amount of cash and a couple guns before leaving, McMillen said.

No injuries were reported, and the incident remains under investigation, McMillen said.

"We conducted some interviews with the victims Tuesday night and we're trying to run down some leads on it," McMillen said.
