Emerson on NDAA

As an Army veteran who served in Iraq, I oppose Jo Ann Emerson's support of last year's National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). The bill added a provision to override American citizens' Constitutional rights to due process.

I expressed my concerns about this to Mrs. Emerson; she claimed I misinterpreted the provision. Several state legislatures, who apparently misinterpreted as well, have enacted legislation against the NDAA to protect their citizens. A federal judge has ruled it unconstitutional. Stubbornly, Emerson voted against recent legislation to remove this specific provision.

There is a primary election for a new congressman Aug. 7. I will vote for pro-life, pro-Constitution, Christian Republican Bob Parker.
