A Cape Girardeau man was in jail Tuesday on multiple charges, including assault on a law enforcement officer, after an incident early Tuesday morning. About 1:15 a.m., Christopher G. Davie, 1300 Victoria Leroy Drive, wrecked a vehicle in the 100 block of Broadway and the vehicle came to rest against some steps, said Cape Girardeau Police Department spokesman Darin Hickey. Davie was removed from the vehicle without further incident, Hickey said. Davie remained in the county jail Tuesday on $7,500 bond on the assault charge, and charges of driving while intoxicated and resisting arrest.
