Beginning Saturday, May 26, 2012, Menards will be hosting a special nine-day Grand Opening Celebration at their new Mega Store in Cape Girardeau, MO, located at 535 Siemers Drive (I-55 (exit 95), West on Shawnee Pkwy to Siemers Drive). The celebration will include great deals on merchandise, prize give-aways, in-store demonstrations and special appearances. The store is NOW OPEN on Monday-Saturday from 6:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Drafted out of high school as the sixth overall pick in the 1979 amateur draft by the St. Louis Cardinals, Andy Van Slyke made his major league debut with the team in June, 1983. Van Slyke spent eight years in the Cardinals organization until traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1987. Van Slyke also played with the Baltimore Orioles and Philadelphia Phillies before retiring after 13 major league seasons. Possessing one of the most accurate and powerful arms from his outfield position, Van Slyke was a five-time Gold Glove Award winner, appeared in three All-Star games, won two Silver Slugger Awards and was often ranked in the top 10 in many offensive categories in varying seasons.

￼￼As a senior at the University of Missouri, Danario Alexander caught 113 passes for an NCAA best
￼1,781 yards and 14 touchdowns and was named a first-team All-American wide receiver by Sports
￼Illustrated. Although undrafted mainly due to a knee injury, Alexander signed a contract with the St.
￼Louis Rams and made his NFL debut on October 17, 2010 when he caught four passes for 72 yards
￼and a touchdown. Alexander has caught 43 passes for 701 yards in his brief NFL career and figures
￼heavily into the Rams' plans in the coming season.
￼Following his senior year at Carroll High School in Southlake, TX, Chase Daniel was named the EA
￼Sports National Player of the Year. Daniel accepted a scholarship at the University of Missouri where
￼he went on to a record-setting collegiate career. As the Tigers' quarterback, Daniel passed for 12,515
￼at a 68% completion rate and became the school's career total offense leader and a Heisman Trophy
￼finalist. Daniel was signed as an NFL free agent in 2009 and remains with the New Orleans
￼Saints where he was a member of the team's 2009-10 Super Bowl championship team.
