ADVANCE, Mo. -- Joseph Green "J.G." Hahn, 81, of Advance died Thursday, May 17, 2012, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 19, 1930, in Cape Girardeau, son of Joseph and Bethany Cox Hahn. He and Lela Bock were married Aug. 27, 1961, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chaffee, Mo.
Joe was a retired farmer from the Rumbranch area near Advance. He was a member of St. Paul Church in Chaffee. During his lifetime he served in numerous church positions. He also sat on the Cape County Soil and Water Board many years and helped with Boy Scouts.
Survivors include his wife, Lela Bock Hahn of Advance; two sons, Brion (Melissa) Hahn of Norborne, Mo., Gordon (Sheila) Hahn of Advance; a daughter, Susan (Denis) Wydra of Jackson; five grandchildren, Matthew, Joshua, Bethany, Joe, and Samantha; three stepgrandchildren, Renee, Sara and Bradley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Capt. Warren Klingaman; a brother-in-law, Alvin Seabaugh; a nephew, Paul Bock; and a niece, Janice Abernathy.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Church, with the Rev. Wayne Schwiesow officiating. Burial will be in Green Cox Cemetery.
