Part of man's ear bitten off during Caruthersville fight

CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. -- A weekend fight in Caruthersville resulted in part of a man's ear being bitten off.
About 10:25 p.m. Friday officers with the Caruthersville Police Department responded to a call of a large fight with weapons involved in the 1200 block of Vest Street, according to a news release from the department.
Officers found a large amount of blood at the scene and a piece of human flesh in the road. A man at the scene told officers his ear had been bitten off during the altercation and officers determined the flesh was the missing portion of the man's ear. The man was flown to Elvis Presley Trauma Center in Memphis, Tenn., for treatment.
Several other parties on scene also reported being injured during the altercation. All were transported to Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital by ambulance and private vehicles.
Suspects have been identified, and charges are pending.
