High school roundup: Central girls soccer team scores win in soccer tourney

Megan Daly and Amanda Webb scored to lift the Central girls soccer team past Anna-Jonesboro 2-0 at the Harrisburg, Ill., tournament Friday.

Goalie Apple Thomas had 10 saves for the Tigers.

St. Vincent 3, Alton, Ill. 0

Abby Lappe scored two goals to lead the undefeated Indians to victory in the Carbondale, Ill., tournament.

Holly Cissell scored the third goal for St. Vincent (10-0).

Goalie Abby Ruessler had five saves for the Indians.


Oak Ridge tournament

Lance Rohde hit a double and earned the win on the mound in host Oak Ridge's 1-0 win over Leopold.

The Blue Jays struck for their run in the first inning to earn a spot in Saturday's title game.

Woodland took care of Meadow Heights 12-0 to earn a spot playing for third place.

Sean McGee hit a triple and took the win on the mound for the Cardinals.

Dylan Miller had a double and went 2 for 3 for Woodland (7-4).

Cody Payne hit a double and went 2 for 3 in the Red Devils' blowout at home.

Jared Walker earned the win for Chaffee (13-1).

The Red Devils broke open a close game with 15 runs in the fourth inning to post the five-inning win.
