LAURA SIMON ~ lsimon@semissourian.com

Jodie Brunke is an account executive at IESI, an independent distributor for Premier Designs Jewelry, a mom to 4-year-old Kendall Reece and fiancee to B.J. Thompson. This busy Fruitland mom still finds time to stay active in her church, Cape County Cowboy Church, and volunteer with the March of Dimes, United Way, Red Cross, Discovery Playhouse, American Cancer Society and Muscular Dystrophy Association. She's a chamber ambassador for the Cape Girardeau and Jackson chambers of commerce, participated in Leadership Jackson and was recently named "Ambassador of the Year" for the Jackson chamber.

What do you love about your work?

I love getting to meet new people and form new relationships every day. I also love that we were the first to offer single-stream recycling in Cape and Jackson for commercial accounts. I love that I get to help my customers save money and also help them be "green" and do our part to help save the environment.

What's your No. 1 goal at work?

To make sure everyone knows what IESI is! We bought another local hauler about three years ago and people here are still learning our name. I want people to think of IESI when they need a Dumpster or a roll-off or recycling service. I want everyone to know how awesome our service is, too! We pride ourselves on our excellent service.

What inspires you?

My desire to be successful inspires me. It's the reason I wake up every morning. I want to be successful in everything I do, whether it be my career with IESI, being a mother or selling Premier Designs Jewelry. I have a lot of different hats that I wear, and I'm a very driven person and a hard worker. I tend to put a lot of pressure on myself to be the best I can be at whatever it is I'm doing.

What's the secret to your success?

I give all the glory to God. He made me who I am and I'm truly blessed for all He's given me in my life.
