Midwest Neurosurgeons Sponsors Relay for Life

The American Caner Society’s Sponsorship Co-Chair, Crystal Burress, Sponsorship Co-Chair Christy Bock and Community Manager of Income Kelli Schenimann receive a sponsorship “check” from Dr. Sonjay Joseph Fonn of Midwest Neurosurgeons, LLC.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo.- Midwest Neurosurgeons,LLC is sponsoring the Cape Girardeau American Cancer Society's Relay for Life for the third year in a row.

Dr. Sonjay Joseph Fonn, founder of Midwest Neurosurgeons, supports this event and says he knows first hand the benefits that this organization can give to cancer patients and their families. During his time at Canisus College in Buffalo, N.Y., Fonn volunteered with the American Cancer Society by driving cancer patients, who did not have means of transportation, to and from their treatments and medical appointments.

"I made some very good friends during those drives," Fonn said. "Sharing in an experience like that with someone truly touches your heart and creates bonds that you will never forget."

Fonn and his staff actively participate in the event each year with a team and an on-site fundraising booth. The 2012 theme for the event is "movies," inspiring Midwest Neurosurgeons' team name "Dr. Fonn and the Sundance Kids," a play on the popular Western film. Relay for Life starts at 5 pm on Saturday, April 28 at the Arena Building in Cape Girardeau. For more information on Relay for Life visit relayforlife.org/capemo.
