The Indians fell behind by 12 points in the first quarter and never recovered in a season-ending loss in the Class 2 District 4 tournament in Bismarck, Mo.

"We played from behind the whole way," St. Vincent coach Bruce Valleroy said.

Valleroy said his fifth-seeded Indians trailed 58-57 midway through the fourth quarter and had a chance to pull ahead but saw the potential go-ahead basket rim out on a second-chance shot.

Sean Martin finished with 23 points for the Indians (9-16), while Mark Kutz had 21. No other St. Vincent player tallied more than four points.
