PERKINS, Mo. -- Harold "Hoover" Burlison, 82, of Perkins was born March 14, 1929, at Swinton, Mo., the son of Arthur and Bertha Lee Burlison, and passed away Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, at Advance Nursing Home in Advance, Mo.
Hoover retired from Worley Implement Co. in Advance where he sold John Deere equipment. He also had worked at Weithop Truck Sales in Cape Girardeau. He was a founder and former member of the Perkins Fire Department.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War.
Hoover and Kay Burlison were united in marriage Sept. 11, 1954, at Hernando, Miss., and she survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Kelly (Candyce) Burlison of Fredericktown, Mo., Lynn (Olivia) Burlison of Perkins; a daughter, Kristi (Tom) Mathis of St. Peters, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Mark Burlison, Sarah Burlison, Don Nussbaum, Laura Stotler, Charles Burlison, Allyson Mathis, Morgan Mathis; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Brian Gill officiating. Burial will follow in Williams Cemetery in Perkins with military rites.
Pallbearers will be Charles Burlison, Mark Burlison, Brad Stotler, Don Nussbaum, Bill Frederick and Jacob Shoemaker.
