Backers of Missouri tax plan committed to November vote

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- A group wanting to replace Missouri's income tax with a higher and broader sales tax said Thursday that it is committed to getting the initiative on the November ballot but declined to say how many millions of dollars it is willing to spend to try to persuade voters to support it.
