Girl Scout Items Needed for 100th Anniversary

Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland will celebrate 100 years with a historical display at the Cape Girardeau public library in March 2012. The organization is asking for help from the community in collecting items for the display such as: Girl Scout uniforms from 1912 to the World War II era, international scouting uniforms, scouting memorabilia, personal collections, and anything unique with a local connection. Items will be catalogued and well-protected; they will be returned to the original owners after the special exhibit closes.

Items will be accepted at the Cape Girardeau Area Girl Scout Service Center, 1432 Kurre Lane, until February 15, 2012 during business hours, Monday-Friday 8:30 am -- 4:30 pm (closed daily 1:00 pm -- 2:00 pm). Questions may be directed to historical committee chair Joan Gibson at 877-312-4764 x1118 or jgibson@girlscoutsmoheartland.org.
