Oak Ridge FCCLA supports Cardinal Glennon Hospital

Katie Newell, Emilie Beard, and Shelby Mangels, members of the Oak Ridge FCCLA club, hosted a book drive to bring some cheer to the children at Cardinal Glennon Children's hospital in St. Louis. Items collected included 1,283 books, 403 movies, and 13 games. The girls were very surprised by the outcome of their book drive. Cardinal Glennon could only take about half of the donation, so the remainder was donated to Child Life Services at Childrens Hospital. Emilies brother Trenton Beard is a cancer patient at Cardinal Glennon. During a visit for a treatment he noticed that there was not a very good selection of DVD's. Thats when the girls decided that it would be a great project to start a collection. The donations were greatly appreciated, making the book drive a huge success.
