Southeast Missouri State junior linebacker Blake Peiffer has been selected to his second All-America team, with several more All-American honors still likely to come.
Peiffer, a Jackson High School graduate, was named to The Associated Press Football Championship Subdivision All-America second team Thursday.
Peiffer garnered first-team all-Ohio Valley Conference honors after leading the league and ranking third nationally with an average of 13.7 tackles per game.
Peiffer had double-digit tackles in 10 of Southeast's 11 games and broke the school's single-season record for tackles with 151.
Peiffer was selected as a first-team All-American by College Sports Madness, which also picked him as its OVC defensive player of the year last week.
Peiffer was the only OVC player named to one of The Associated Press' top two All-American units.
Four OVC players earned third-team AP All-American honors: Murray State junior quarterback Casey Brockman, Eastern Kentucky junior running back Matt Denham, Tennessee Tech senior offensive lineman Scott Schweitzer and Eastern Kentucky senior defensive back Jeremy Caldwell.
