Lillie Sue Truax, 74, of Jackson passed away Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at her home.
She was born March 26, 1937, in Marks, Miss., to Edgar and Bertha Wilson Hancock. Sue and Rodney Truax were married June 6, 1966.
Sue was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson. She worked 20 years as a receptionist and dental assistant for Dr. E. Thomas in Memphis, Tenn., and ten years for Dr. Louis Rohlfs in Jackson. She was a member of the Red Hat Society in Jackson and the Goldwing Road Riders Association. She volunteered for the Community Counseling Center in Cape Girardeau, answering the "warm" line.
Loving survivors include her husband of 45 years; four daughters, Marcia Truax Crone of Memphis, Rhonda "Sissy" Truax (John) Pasley of Memphis, Donna Truax (John) Slaner of Cape Girardeau, Gayle Hall (Glen) Harrison of Matthews, N.C.; two sons, Wendell Locklear of Gulfport, Miss., Chris Locklear of Cape Girardeau; a brother, James (Susan) Hancock of Memphis; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, George R. Hancock; and a great-grandson, Allen Isaiah Walker.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Henrichs officiating.
Interment will follow in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau.
