Dr. Stacy appointed vice dean for clinical research at Duke
Dr. Mark Stacy has been appointed vice dean for clinical research at Duke University School of Medicine. Stacy is a clinical investigator and administrator who served as associate dean for clinical research since 2009. He has been a key driver in improving clinical research practices and in developing a site-based research director community. He joined Duke in 2003, and is now a professor of medicine in the Division of Neurology, and director of Duke's Movement Disorders Center. He served as director of the Neurology Clinical Research Organization before moving to the Dean's Office.
Bell brings experience to new position in Cape
Marlene A. Bell, "M.A. Bell," has joined Realty Executives of Cape County as a sales executive. Bell specializes in residential and commercial real estate, and farm and acreage properties. Watson joins MRV Banks as president and CEO
Doug Watson has joined MRV Banks in Ste. Genevieve, Mo., as president and CEO. Watson has 33 years of banking experience, most recently serving the same role with a bank in Southwest Missouri. He graduated from Southeast Missouri State University and the Graduate School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University. MRV Banks is a locally owned and operated bank, chartered in 2007, with assets in excess of $74 million.
Lipe promoted to consumer sales manager at Regions Bank
Tyler Lipe has been promoted to consumer sales manager for Southeast Missouri at Regions Bank. He has been with Regions since 2005 and was the Branch Sales Manager at the Bellemore Banking Center in Granite City, Ill. He is a 2005 graduate of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville earning a bachelor of science in business administration. Regions Financial Corporation, with $132 billion in assets, is a member of the S&P 500 Index and is one of the nation's largest full-service providers of consumer and commercial banking, trust, securities brokerage, mortgage, etc.
Anderson earns supervisor credentials
Shannon Anderson, LPC, of Cape Girardeau, earned the prestigious Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor credential conferred by the Association for Play Therapy, according to its executive director Bill Burns. Anderson is a Licensed Professional Counselor. To become a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor, applicants must have earned a traditional masters or doctoral mental health degree from an institution of higher education; 150 clock hours of play therapy training; five years and 5,000 hours of post-master's clinical experience; 500 supervised and 500 additional hours of play therapy experience; and be licensed or certified by their state boards of practice. Play therapy is gaining popularity as an effective method by which licensed mental health professionals use developmentally appropriate play therapy theories and techniques to better communicate with and help clients, especially children.
Darby earns awards for November
Kelly Darby of Jackson, a financial representative with Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial, was New Member Leader and was Named Rookie of the Month in the Missouri East Region for November. Rookie of the Month is given to a full-time representative that has been with Modern Woodmen for less than three years and is leading the region in production. Darby has been with Modern Woodmen since November 2010. Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial is a fraternal life insurance society headquartered in Rock Island, Ill.
