Three of the K-9 members of the Scott Co K-9 Search and Rescue Team

Scott Co K-9 Search and Rescue K9 team is having a Christmas Basket raffle to raise monies to help them with their search efforts. The basket will be full of goodies, including a CRKT Columbis River Bone handle knife, valued at Approximately $110.00,gift cards, and many other items. The list of items keeps growing, as they are being donated, so it will be a "mystery basket up until the final week" with new items added daily! Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. The drawing will be December 23rd.

The search team has assisted the local law enforcement in many searches this year. The team was called to Joplin to aide in the recovery after the tornado in May where destruction lay everywhere, assisted the FBI in Senath, assisted the local and state law enforcement in Oklahoma with the CUE Center for Missing People, searches in Kentucky, Tennessee, and numerous searches for Jacque Waller have been conducted some planned out ahead of time and others set forth at a moments' notice due to a tip or lead law enforcement may have. Our team has recently located a local, disoriented lady, alive after being missing in the woods for 12 hours.

Our team also has educational programs which consist of two programs for differant age groups. We present the Hug A Tree program where we introduce kids to the dogs and teach them what to do if they become lost in the woods to stay safe and unafraid. An Awareness Program for young adults has been offered at local colleges for Senior Day which is also a safety program of just being aware of predators.
