High school roundup: Scott City's Shemonia wins Hancock Invitational cross country race

Senior Brandon Shemonia won the Hancock Invitational cross country meet's classes 1 and 2 varsity race in 16 minutes, 44.39 seconds to lead the Scott City boys to a third-place finish Saturday.

Elizabeth Kiblinger took second in the girls Class 3 race to help the Bulldogs win the team title.

The Notre Dame boys also took first in the Class 3 division, with Jacob Meadors leading the way in 17th place.

Billy Leighton was Central's top finisher, coming in second in the Class 4 race.
