Cape Girardeau soldier named fire instructor of year

Bryan Frayser of Cape Girardeau, Fort Riley's assistant chief of training, was named the IMCOM-W Fire Service Instructor of the Year and Army Fire Service Instructor of the Year for 2010. Each year, fire departments across the nation submit award packages signifying their accomplishments for the previous year. Frayser has implemented a career-progression-model leader development blending fire service training with the Civilian Education System. He has also revitalized the career development program with 181 percent increase in department certifications and enrollments. Frayser represented Fort Riley Fire and Emergency Services at the annual International Associations of Fire Chiefs-Department of Defense Conference in Atlanta in August and competed for the Department of Defense Fire Instructor of the Year award.
